Time-Out or Traffic-Control of the Mind!!

Meditation has become my way to clear my active conscious mind and get into a relatively quite space, no matter where I am. And at times I find myself connecting to solutions that really address what my current needs are.

If you are not a regular practitioner of meditation, you may be doing some of those things that evoke the same results I explained above. For an example; gardening-the practice of putting your hands into mother earth, is a natural and healthy way to reconnect to your source energy. It is also best to do gardening with bare feet. You will ramp up the connectivity and get better results and be "Earthing" or removing the electrical buildup in the body; aka, grounding yourself!!

There was a time in my life when taking a long drive in my sports car, (it was a 240SX with a sunroof). And I would drive from Ft Lauderdale to Key Largo, (Upper Keys), Fla. This was my way to just let the thoughts / challenges of the day to flow freely in my subconscious mind and when I was returning to my home, I had a clearer concept of how to approach what had "driven" me to driving south.

So do not think that meditation is sitting and focusing on your breathing, only. Exercise is another way to get into that zone without doing anything but focusing on the exercise routine.

During the period of 2007 thru 2010, I was privileged to facilitate staffers on Capital Hill, Washington, D.C. to just take a one minute / 60sec break when things were getting too pressured and hectic. When taking this short "time out", listen to the beating of your heart or the ticking of a clock and better yet, the natural breathing you are experiencing at that moment. You will experience the diminishing of the outer world and the awareness of your inner-quiet world.

As I am recalling the various ways to meditate, I am remembering, "We Are As We Think". So, if something is good for you and you believe it will help you, then it will. Just as if you do not believe something, then it will be exactly as you "Believe" it to be.

I hope this short blog on using "Time-Outs" aka "Traffic-Controls" will assist your ability to take control of your inner being and help you make positive responses verses just reacting to come what may!!!
