Do Nothing, Yet Have Everything!!!

A few days ago I was visiting a friend in the outskirts of Vilcabamba, Ecuador and while in the taxi heading to a small retreat, I got to thinking about how a driver can only focus on driving and not see nearly as much as the passengers in the vehicle.

And after we got out of the taxi and began to walk, my eyes went into the natural beauty along the pathway to the small cottage I would be spending the night in.

The next thought was a WOW moment!1 More clarity of the meaning of "Do Nothing, Yet Have Everything!" It was from the fact that as we speed through our day, we miss a lot of the "Now Moments" that tend to bring peace and joy and sustenance to life and living. I was observing the hillsides and trees and all that I could focus on, as a passenger in the taxi. I saw even more when I was just walking. And when I stood still, I could see and enjoy enormous details. I, at that moment, was doing no movements, yet was able to blissfully enjoy more details.

The art of enjoying our surroundings as much as possible always bring me to a quiet, stillness that flows up into my heart chakra and immediately calms my mind and my soul.

There are those times when being flown high above the ground is a part of the travels we must do at nearly 500 miles per hour. So I am asking you to challenge yourself, regardless of the speed you may be traveling in, to just find something that you can focus on for a few moments and breathe and do not judge anything or yourself and allow the quite stillness within your mind to take over.

I believe that you, too, will also feel inner peace, while doing nothing, for those few moments. You and I actually have everything under control. I believe that we are as strong and as powerful as our universe, even when we may feel so small and insignificant, at times.

Time-Out or Traffic-Control of the Mind!!

Meditation has become my way to clear my active conscious mind and get into a relatively quite space, no matter where I am. And at times I find myself connecting to solutions that really address what my current needs are.

If you are not a regular practitioner of meditation, you may be doing some of those things that evoke the same results I explained above. For an example; gardening-the practice of putting your hands into mother earth, is a natural and healthy way to reconnect to your source energy. It is also best to do gardening with bare feet. You will ramp up the connectivity and get better results and be "Earthing" or removing the electrical buildup in the body; aka, grounding yourself!!

There was a time in my life when taking a long drive in my sports car, (it was a 240SX with a sunroof). And I would drive from Ft Lauderdale to Key Largo, (Upper Keys), Fla. This was my way to just let the thoughts / challenges of the day to flow freely in my subconscious mind and when I was returning to my home, I had a clearer concept of how to approach what had "driven" me to driving south.

So do not think that meditation is sitting and focusing on your breathing, only. Exercise is another way to get into that zone without doing anything but focusing on the exercise routine.

During the period of 2007 thru 2010, I was privileged to facilitate staffers on Capital Hill, Washington, D.C. to just take a one minute / 60sec break when things were getting too pressured and hectic. When taking this short "time out", listen to the beating of your heart or the ticking of a clock and better yet, the natural breathing you are experiencing at that moment. You will experience the diminishing of the outer world and the awareness of your inner-quiet world.

As I am recalling the various ways to meditate, I am remembering, "We Are As We Think". So, if something is good for you and you believe it will help you, then it will. Just as if you do not believe something, then it will be exactly as you "Believe" it to be.

I hope this short blog on using "Time-Outs" aka "Traffic-Controls" will assist your ability to take control of your inner being and help you make positive responses verses just reacting to come what may!!!

In Peace, Joy and with Love,
I am, as you are. Om Shanti
(Om Shanti = I am a peaceful soul)

Staying in the Moment, when in Motion! aka Mindfulness

I was thinking recently of how many accidents could be prevented if more people would stay in the "now" moments of life.

I see so many driving an automobile with their eyes not focused on what is ahead of them. And this is happening at a much higher rate than before texting became a must, while driving.

There are others walking and looking into their "not-so-smart-phones" and ending up in from of moving traffic, when they should have stoped before entering the intersection.

Our "not-so-smart-phones" should be able to tell you to "stop walking and be in the moment, your life is at stake". But no, the "not-so-smart-phone" really does not care, but shouldn't you?

Love of Self must be strong for others to love ME!!!

I can remember hearing many years ago that when you squeeze an orange, orange juice comes out. Everyone knows that, right?

And when you are squeeze, pressured, challenged.... what comes out? This analogy of the orange can still be used today. What comes out of you when you are squeezed?

Just focus on that question for a few moments. And if what comes out when pressured by the traffic you are driving in, or what someone you know and love has said or done that affects you; what comes out of you?

If  happy loving, calm and peacefulness thoughts and actions emerges, then you are on the right inner page of your life.

I find that interesting to think about from time to time. And recently, someone began to ask me a few questions and what came out for me was to freeze and not answer. But in a flash, I recalled that I believe that my life is an open book. Meaning that if I am fearful of what to say about myself and not give the answers to a question that has been asked of me, then, I am not an open book. I am not true to myself.

To me, being an open book means that living in truth is the only way to be, live and think! Even when something I am not happy with, may be tucked away in the closet of my mind, I feel that an accurate answer, is required. Regardless of the outcome!!

So, this question, when answered, would indicate a part of my life that I was not comfortable with. It had to do with a business idea and I felt like I was being "interviewed" about what I had not done in the past year. I felt uncomfortable and did not want to reveal this information. A facade of who I am, regarding this one business idea would be out in the open and would humiliate me. But, my inner strength pervailed and I told the truth.

Interestingly, my "interviewer" replied, that sounds a lot like me! And this fear of revealing my lack of productivity was a non-issue. But a stepping stone to improving what I need to be doing to accomplish this goal of mine. I was not alone, I became a part of an emerging partnership; with something foundational to build itself on. Trust and truthfulness and that was more important to me, to be able to be an open book.

One other thought, when in a situation that is uncomfortable, I have found that when I take a few deep breaths and move my attention to my heart, it is very, very difficult to not be true from within my heart. A place where I am real, a place of peace, love and joy!!

Have great days, always!!

Wow, what a long time it has been since the uncovering of Redox Signaling Molecules....circa 1999

Does not sound familiar? Then I employ you to find out about this vital element of our cells. Ironically as we age our body produces less and less. But our body's healing is dependent on this one, very tiny element of the Mitochondria.

At least find out how it impacts your daily health status, positively, at www.healthycells411.com

Staying in the "Moment"

After many sessions over the past 3 years, I am able to see the challenge that we all have with regards to effective meditation. It can be summed up simply as, staying in the present moment. Enjoying the sounds, the environment, the feelings within our body. As we focus on sounds we can experiment with our reactions and if we are uncomfortable with something, then a simple question can be asked. Such as, "why am I not accepting this sound?" (it could be the roaring of an automobile engine or motorcycle or the siren of an emergency vehicle). No matter what it is, challenge yourself to accept it and look at the "other side of the coin". Give a blessing to yourself and the source of the sound and acknowledge the good in all that is coming into your sensory perception.

Take a few moments, just 60 seconds even, several times throughout your day and just listen and bring a feeling of love, satisfaction, joy and or happiness into focus. When we smile within, we begin to dissipate stress and we regain energy that is lost, otherwise.

Remember what we have within, is what others see us as being, at that moment. And when the moments are constantly showing up as not joyful, unhappy, not rested, the love within is diminished and others are also affected. Some may even avoid us. I believe that when we can show loving, joyful, happy feelings we will attract the same from others. The choice is ours. What we bring into our life is based on how we think; positive thoughts bring positive results, just as the opposite is true.

So keep love flowing within. And your world will shower you with positive, loving people, things and results. If it's to be, it's up to me!

What Meditation means to me

Meditation has helped me in my daily life so much that I want to share some of what I have experienced. I hope you will give me some thoughts of your experiences with meditating. Having been a left brained thinker, an accountant, I have struggled with my feelings or how to express that which I felt. So over a long period of time I began to read about and attempted to understand what meditation was all about.

This journey took me to places where I would find books and open them and the first thing that would pop out was something written about meditation. I knew from that that I was on the right path to understanding how to meditate.

It took me many attempts, but finally I began to see some positive results. One of the first was my health improved. I began to need less hours of sleep and I got through my day feeling happier and full filled.
